Poor Things
About Poor Things
Poor Things are an indie-rock band based in Scotland. The founding fathers, three school friends, started the band as a cool way to spend their prime teenage years indoors. Over time they’ve come to be influenced by the melodies of Weezer, the sun kissed harmonies of Teenage Fanclub, and the adventure of Malkmus and Pavement.
They released their self-titled debut LP in April 2014 to widespread critical acclaim, and it was named as an end of year favourite by bloggers Podcart and Scottish Fiction. Shows across the UK and in France followed, as well as appearances at T in the Park and Belladrum festivals.
With a second album record in the works, and a successful split cassette with Catholic Action on the aptly named Fuzzkill Records kicking off their 2015, ‘No Way, José’ is indicative of a more direct approach, a 3 minute fuzzy pop number with a big chorus.
