Miaoux Miaoux, a.k.a. Julian Corrie, creates beautiful electronic pop soundscapes that have been causing quite a stir in Glasgow and beyond. The release of his acclaimed “Blooms” EP in March 2010 has lead to a string of successful gigs in Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as an invitation to play the goNorth music seminar, Rock Ness and the Truck Festival. This was followed by the ‘Knitted’ single in September 2010, released in limited edition knitted sleeves with proceeds going to Cancer Research and Maggie’s Centres.
Miaoux Miaoux’s music draws on the best bits of electronica and post-rock, recalling Caribou, Four Tet, Mogwai and Tortoise. The impressive live show sees Miaoux Miaoux create harmonies, melodies and beats live and on the fly, looping and recomposing them into a maelstrom of noise and techno vibrations.
Miaoux Miaoux is currently working on a new album, “Arcs of Brilliance”, to be released in the first quarter of 2011.
